Every Child Dreams of Greatness – Literacy Campaign
As a national member of the International Reading Association, I have spoken at several state and regional reading conferences. As a literacy educator, I have often been asked how to engage students in reading. As a former reading teacher, I learned through my students that the story’s subject matter had to be something the students could identify with and the storyline must inspire a child to begin believing in dreams. I was asked by state educators to write books that would actively engage students in reading. This is why I have created Dr. Paul Mullen’s Every Child Dreams of Greatness reading literacy campaign.
In three years, my literacy campaign has been approved by the National Center for Family Literacy, the Cincinnati, Ohioana and Iowa Public Libraries. I have spoken at hundreds of schools at Family Fun Night, Literacy Night, Right-to Read, Red Ribbon and as the featured speaker at Scholastic Book Fairs. I have also spoken at school sporting events, award dinners, libraries and state and regional educational conferences.
I have partnered in my literacy campaign with retail stores, national bookstores, hotels, fast-food restaurants, ESPN Operation Outreach, Boys & Girls Club who read the baseball books for summer school reading programs, Ronald McDonald House and state orphanages where I have donated hundreds of books to students in need.
My literacy campaign inspires all children to believe in greatness.
